This carefully designed and facilitated two-day programme will help delegates understand and manage their stress levels at work and as a result improve their overall wellness and wellbeing.
The programme combines traditional methods of analysing stress and pressure, with innovative tools and techniques drawn from the world of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, to provide a unique and powerful strategy for combating everyday stress related issues. The content enables attendees to consider how their work might influence stress in their day to day lives, as well as vice versa. Participants leave the programme with a range of tools and techniques they can use to help them manage stress effectively at work, better manage their time and promote wellbeing.
Course Content
Understanding stress and its causes
We start on a voyage of self-discovery. Participants explore the link between creating and contributing to a harmonious working environment and why it is good for business, personal wellbeing, and good health. They explore the effects of stress and start to understand how stress impacts on their own lives.
Time management to support stress reduction
A quick look at how time management links with stress reduction, participants set personal goals and objectives, and are introduced to a time management matrix to help focus on priorities.
Understanding relationship between stress and pressure
Understanding the relationship between stress and pressure is crucial. Participants complete a questionnaire to explore where the stress is coming from in their lives. How to recognise stress within the mind and the body is explored, along understanding of how stress impacts the body. The power of the mind to support stress reduction is a key element of this session.
Managing stress levels and creating a positive working environment
Participants will enjoy exploring personal stress management techniques based on NLP principles. The calm and relaxed atmosphere of this session will help to demonstrate how these self-management techniques can be used to full advantage to turn stress into a positive benefit. Working in groups, we explore techniques for developing self-belief to overcome stressful lives, and we discuss when does stress aid performance and when does it detract? Participants explore how we can all contribute to a less stressful working environment.
Handling stress positively – A positive mindset
Formal learning on stress handling strategies and the importance of an effective Life–Work Balance, as well as how to change your mindset using NLP techniques are key tools to take away. The day is rounded off with relaxation techniques including breathing and relaxation exercises, as well as how to use visualisation to reduce stress. Participants are invited to think-forward to prepare an action plan to include building relaxation into day to day schedules, and agreeing practical change to drive a positive and harmonious working environment.

Use Actors in Your Training
Through clever script writing, goose-bump inducing delivery and professional facilitation we can bring so much to life. We stimulate emotion, penetrate the long-term memory and create lasting change.
When we use live drama, we are able to have the actors play out the scenario and then be hot seated for the audience to ask them questions whilst they remain in character. Hot seating works so well because actors work with a pre-rehearsed backstory, so they are able to respond in character. They progressively reveal unexpected elements of their story that will not have previously been told. It can bust assumptions that the audience might have made based on the scenario (situation) but not fully understanding the impact at first sight.
Using actors in this programme enables us to bring to:
- See a typical situation from a different perspective
- Give attendees a chance to challenge the actors whilst they are still in character
- Demonstrate that things aren’t always what they seem at first glance
- Provide delegates with an opportunity to test out alternative ways of approaching different situations
- Create an experience which stays in the long-term memory
